What should be done with pedophile Jack McClellan?

I saw this guy on CNN today, rather disturbing. He is an admitted pedophile who hangs out and parks and public events, snapping pictures of little girls playing and then posts them on his website. Granted, the pictures are all non-nude and technically he is not breaking the law. Yet he readily admits to being a pedophile and that is why he takes/collects the pictures. Having no criminal history, and never haven been convicted of a sex crime he he is not listed as a sexual predator. Law enforcements hands are tied.
Should we be allowed to lock people away who admit to being something that is harmful to society yet have not crossed the line and broken any laws - yet? If so where do we stop?
Myself, i think since he admits to being a pedophile and since pedophilia is a mental disorder that should be enough to lock him away in a mental institution.

Much as I would like to agree with you, I can't. I think most, if not all of us, have had an illegal thought now and again. Haven't you ever just for a second wished someone dead? (Have you seen The Minority Report?) While intent is important, it is the act that is prosecuted. He could only be locked up for mental health reasons if it could be proven that he is a danger to himself or others and that one is pretty tough. Hopefully he'll do one tiny slip up like get caught with child porn from the net and get put away before he does anything horrid.

i agree there should definitly be something donw with him and people like him.He has admitted to being a pedophile and its not going to be long before he crosses the line and hurts a child.He already prooving that by taking photographs of unsuspecting kids and there parents and putting the pics on a web site.Isnt there some law out there where you cant post pics with out consent if not then i think there should be esspecially when it comes to children.I know if i caught someone taking pics of my children and posting them the law wouldnt need to worry about him anymore.

He's a serious threat to innocent children. Helpless, Innocent children. I don't think we should wait until he (inevitably) hurts a child before we lock him up. He needs to be taken off the streets now!!! If he has admitted to pedophilia and is stalking children for photos to pleasure himself, than he is a lion on the prowl. He is DANGEROUS and parents need to turn the camera and the heat on him and follow his every waking move. Just sit and wait and catch him , then lock him up for good.
