What sentence does first degree robbery carry for an 18 year old?

what is the average range in possible years time
Answers:
It depends on which state the person committed the crime and was convicted as well as other convictions or details around that specific crime. The sentence is set up per crime per state. Every state has their own set of legislation rulings on what the minimum and maximum can be.
Only a judge and prosecutor can hand out the actual sentence. A lawyer can tell their client what the minimum and maximum are for that specific crime. Sentencing are handed out in fines, prison (or jail time) and parole (or probation) as well as combination of some or all of the three.
hm.. im not sure but maybe 5-10 years? i dont think it would be a life sentence. guess it depends on the details of what happened at the robbery.
First Degree Robbery, in New York, is a Class B Felony.
NY uses indeterminate sentencing, under which the minumum time is equal to one third of the maximum time, EXCEPT if the defendant is a predicate felon, or if the victim was actually injured, in which case the minimum sentence is one-half of the max.
A Class B felony carries a top sentence of 25 years, so it comes out at 8 1/3 to 25 for a first offense and 12.5 to 25 for a predicate or violent felony. Moreover, if it was an armed felony, or the victim was seriously injured, the sentence may never be less than 1 to three years. As a practical matter, since 1st Degree Robbery is almost always an armed felony, you're looking at a MINIMUM of three to six in a "medium" security institution.
An armed felony is not eligible for youthful offender status. To be charged with 1st degree robbery without it being an armed felony, you would have had to deal out a vicious great deal of injury, which means that there is not a chance this side of hell that you will receive YO status.
So, for a first offender, three to six. For a hardened criminal, five to fifteen followed by ten years of supervised release. For a truly bad guy, 12.5 to 25, which gets you sent to a maximum security house.
the same as any other adult.if ya cant do the time...dont do the crime..
